This is me starting something. My name is Chris (What? Not Johnny?), and if there’s one thing you should know about me, it’s this: I’m the king of research and the CEO of Inaction, Inc. I’ve spent countless hours diving into new hobbies, side hustles, and creative pursuits—only to get stuck in the endless cycle of planning and overthinking. Sound familiar?
That’s why I started this thing. I want to break free from the “inaction” trap and start actually doing. More importantly, I want to share that journey with you.
Why I’m Starting Something
I’ve always been drawn to learning new things, whether it’s woodworking, digital illustration, or even brewing my own beer. The thrill of starting something new is unbeatable, but I know how overwhelming it can feel to take those first steps. This blog is here to document my successes, my struggles, and everything in between.
Think of it as a guide for anyone who’s ever said, “I think I could do that,” but didn’t know where to begin.
What You Can Expect
This isn’t just a personal diary of my attempts to master everything under the sun (though there will be plenty of that). It’s also a resource for you. I’ll be sharing:
- Honest reviews of tools and resources.
- Step-by-step guides for beginners.
- Tips on overcoming those pesky roadblocks that keep us from getting started.
And yes, I’ll throw in a good laugh at my own expense, because what’s life without a little humor?
Topics I’m Planning to Start
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the adventures I’ll be diving into:
- Creating a Blog: (Meta, right?) I’ll share how I launched this very site.
- Candle Making: Because who doesn’t love a house that smells like success?
- Woodworking: Turning scrap into something spectacular—or at least functional.
- Healthy Living: Let’s see if I can swap chips for kale without losing my mind.
- Digital Illustration: Can a total beginner create something Instagram-worthy?
And that’s just the start. Whether it’s laser engraving or DIY home repairs, I’m determined to step out of my comfort zone—and drag you along for the ride.
My Promise to You
I’m not here to be perfect, polished, or pretentious. This blog is about progress, not perfection. My goal is to inspire you to pick up that hobby you’ve been putting off, try that project you’ve been curious about, or just laugh along as I inevitably mess something up.
So, if you’re ready to start something (anything!) and need a little push, you’re in the right place. Together, we’ll learn, grow, and—most importantly—start.
Let’s make this journey one we’ll never forget.
Never stop starting,
Chris
